Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16
Jeremiah’s quest had a happy outcome! Having found “the Word”, he thoroughly “digested” it. Being thus refreshed and cheered, he marvelled again at the strong, living link between “the Lord of hosts” and himself. The time and energy spent in assimilating the Word had not been a waste. A keen appetite for the Word of God will result in genuine, spiritual growth. —George Hall
