DAILY READINGS: 2 Sam. 18:1-19:8; Jeremiah 2:1-3:5; Gal. 4:1-20

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:6

Accepted in Christ. The word “accepted” carries the idea of being highly honoured or greatly favoured. It is the verb form of “grace” so we can say that we are “graced in Christ.” Placed in the One who is in the bosom of His Father, we are the beloved, recipients of the same love the Father has for His Son. Nothing shall ever separate us from Him. What comforting words. —George Ferrier

Tempters seek to lure astray;
Storms obscure the light of day:
But in Christ I can be bold,
I’ve an anchor that shall hold. — W. C. Martin
