DAILY READINGS: 2 Chronicles 30:1-27; Ezekiel 46:1-24; John 21:1-25

when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son. Romans 5:10, NKJV

In his book, Peace Child, Don Richardson tells of discovering the key to presenting the gospel to the Sawi people of Irian Jaya. If a father gave his son to the enemy, his act of sacrifice proved he could be trusted and all who touched the child were placed in a friendly relationship with the father. So God gave His Son for His enemies and all who reach out by faith to the Son for salvation will receive everlasting life. They will no longer be enemies, but His forgiven children. The invitation of Romans 10:13 is, “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (NKJV). —Arnot McIntee

God in mercy sent His Son to a world by sin undone. Jesus Christ
was crucified, ’twas for sinners Jesus died. —Hannah K. Burlingham
