Whether a literal hour of the night or a figurative time of darkness and distress, our Lord gives us “songs in the night“. We are to be a praising people even though sometimes we sing through our tears. “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy” (Ps. 107:2). —Wm. H. Gustafson
