DAILY READINGS: Joshua 24:1-33; Isaiah 19:1-20:6; 2 Thessalonians 3:1-18

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ…Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

A story is told about a six-year-old girl whose neighbourhood playmate had died. One day she went to visit her friend’s mom. When she came back, she told her mother where she had been. When her mother asked her what she had said, she answered, “I didn’t say anything. I just sat on her lap and cried a little.” What an example that little girl is for us! She understood what it meant to bring comfort. —W. Ross Rainey
