DAILY READINGS: Judges 2:6-3:4; Isaiah 22:15-23:18; 1 Cor. 2:1-16

Who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the Lord. Jeremiah 30:21

Who dares to draw near to God, who dwells in the unapproachable light of divine glory, holiness and righteousness? Sinful, mortal men and women have no natural way to enter. But the Lord Jesus has made a way. He is the way, and we are “made nigh by the blood of Christ” (Eph. 2:13). Thus Hebrews 10:22 exhorts the believer, “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” God wants us near Him always! —Carl Knott

Nearer, still nearer, while life shall last. Till safe in glory my anchor is cast;
Through endless ages ever to be, nearer, my Saviour, still nearer to Thee. —Lelia N. Morris
