DAILY READINGS: 2 Samuel 20:1-26; Jeremiah 4:3-31; Galatians 5:10-26

The Lord is my shepherd…He maketh me to lie down…he leadeth me…he restoreth my soul. Psalm 23:1-3
When he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them. John 10:4

What does our good Shepherd do? He goes before and constantly cares for His sheep. His care includes feeding, guiding, protecting and restoring. His rod and staff are for our comfort. He leads us in paths of righteousness. This means He leads us according to the will of God, not our own will. May we heed His voice, trust and gratefully follow Him today. —Carl Knott

Lord, I would clasp Thy hand in mine, nor ever murmur nor repine;
Content, whatever lot I see, since ’tis my God that leadeth me. —Joseph Henry Gilmore
