DAILY READINGS: 2 Kings 5; Jeremiah 38; Hebrews 9:15-28

Bring no more futile sacrifices; Incense is an abomination to Me. The New Moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies—I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting. Isaiah 1:13, NKJV

The Lord detested Israel’s vain religiosity! The Jews were a morally corrupt and spiritually bankrupt people. They had sacred form without the power of the truth (God’s Law) within them. The temple was bustling
with religious activity, but true worshippers must approach God in revealed truth, and with pure hearts and clean hands to refresh His heart. God has not changed, Christianity that is empty form displeases Him in the same way vain Judiasm did. He is looking for those who will worship and serve Him in spirit and in truth. —W. A. H.

The praise of hypocrites and gifts rebels impart, are offerings of futility.
But a broken spirit and contrite heart, delights God for all eternity.—WAH
