Exodus 20:1-26; Psalms 60:1-61:8; Acts 11:1-18

I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation. Romans 1:16

The Greek word for power in this verse is “dynamis”; from which comes our English word “dynamite”. It is an apt word as the power of God is dynamic and explosive, able to bring lost humanity unto salvation. The messages we hear from the pulpit today often lack power and are as palatable to the ear as candy is to the taste; sweet to eat, but with very little nourishment. No wonder we are so spiritually thin. May God help us to preach a complete Gospel of power and salvation. —Ken Gunnell

There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb. —Lewis E. Jones
