DAILY READINGS: Exodus 32:1-35; Psalms 81:1-82:8; Acts 19:21-41

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain. Revelation 5:12, KJV

All the believer’s hopes depend on the perfect sacrifice of the Lord Jesus on the cross. Praise God He is now seated in His rightful place in glory. But so often we find ourselves looking back to the cross and to that time when we first believed. It brings joy to our hearts to recall the moment when God’s Holy Spirit granted us an understanding of our Saviour’s work—the sacrifice of the Lamb of God for us. Are you depending on the perfect work of the Lord Jesus Christ? —Mark Fenn

I have been at the altar and witnessed the Lamb, Burnt wholly to
ashes for me; And watched its sweet savour ascending on high,
Accepted, O Father, by Thee. —Amelia Matilda Hull

Exodus 32:1-35; Psalms 81:1-82:8; Acts 19:21-41

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Proverbs 28:13
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Some saints never fully enjoy their Christian lives because they cannot really believe that confession brings forgiveness. Sadly, sometimes fellow believers do not help by treating them as second class believers. We all have faults and failings. Let us enjoy the Lord’s forgiveness and help others to do the same. —Brian Russell

Praise my soul the King of heaven,
To His feet thy tribute bring;
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
Who like me His praise shall sing. —Henry Francis Lyte
