Leviticus 19:1-20:27; Psalms 120:1-123:4; Mark 7:1-23

Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth. Psalm 71:9

Sometimes we can feel that we have reached our “sell by date”. An age where we get the impression that we are of no use to anyone. That is when the Lord tells us, “Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God” (Isa. 41:9-10). “And even to your old age I am he; and even to [grey] hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you” (Isa. 46:4). Continue on and finish well. —Ken Gunnell

The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose,
He will not, He cannot desert to its foes;
That soul tho’ all hell should endeavour to shake,
He’ll never, no never, no never forsake. —Robert Keen
