DAILY READINGS: Numbers 5; Proverbs 2; Mark 14:27-52
And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself…redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it. Ruth 4:6
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Romans 8:3
The kinsman with the right to redeem Ruth said, “I cannot redeem it”. He was like the Mosaic Law of which Paul said, “it was weak through the flesh”. Boaz, the willing kinsmen, said, “Ruth, I have purchased to be my wife.” We have been redeemed by the death of Christ. “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law” (Gal. 3:13).
