Psalm 46 was one of Martin Luther’s (1483-1546) favourite passages of Scripture. It was with this psalm of praise before him that he penned his own famous Reformation hymn, “Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott”—“A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.” Can you truthfully say, “God is my refuge and strength?” —W.
