I have waited for your salvation, O Lord! Genesis 49:18 NKJV
For my eyes have seen Your salvation. Luke 2:30 NKJV
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
As Jacob lay dying, was he longingly waiting for salvation, Yeshua? This is the first time “salvation” is mentioned in Scripture, and could be translated, “I have waited for your Yeshua, (your Jesus)!”. Simeon, as he tenderly held the Lord in his arms said, “For my eyes have seen Your salvation (Your Jesus)”, and thus died in peace. Jacob longed for the “Hope of the Ages”. Simeon held the “Hope of the Ages”, and we await the coming of the “Hope of the Ages”! At this Christmas season we rejoice and cry, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”. —Jim Comte
The name of Jesus is so sweet, I love its music to repeat;
It makes my joys full and complete, the precious name of Jesus. —W. Martin
