Numbers 16:1-40; Proverbs 13:1-25; 1 Peter 5:1-14

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord…He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh…Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath. Psalm 2:2, 4-5

These words of the psalmist could describe the way governments and their leaders are functioning today. They would do well to remember that God is on His throne and has everything in control. The efforts of “rulers” do not worry God. In fact He laughs (v. 4). God will deal with them in His wrath. Our responsibility is to pray “for kings, and for all that are in authority” (1 Tim. 2:2). —Bob Cretney

Our God is an awesome God,
He reigns from heaven above,
With wisdom, power, and love;
our God is an awesome God.—Rich Mullens
