2 Samuel 16:1-17:29; Jeremiah 1:1-19; Galatians 3:15-29
Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. Isaiah 59:1
Sometimes we feel that the Lord is not hearing us when we lift up our hearts to Him. Unconfessed sin could be the issue and our faltering prayer life reveals that we cannot hide it from Him. “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me” (Ps. 66:18). Paul exhorts us to “Lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” (Heb. 12:1). Troubled fellowship with the Lord is painful. Beware that no unconfessed sin comes between us and God. —K. C. Ung
If in my heart I sin regard, my prayer He will not hear;
But, truly, God has heard my voice, my prayer has reached His ear. —The Psalter
