2 Samuel 21:1-22; Jeremiah 5:1-31; Galatians 6:1-18
A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. Isaiah 42:3 NKJV
Our Saviour was a gentle Servant! The bruised reed He would not crush. The dimly burning flax He would not extinguish. How many readers today are weak with illness and age, or bruised by grief and heavy problems? The gentle Servant takes the feeblest into His tender hands and seeks to encourage them. Think of His gentleness with children, with the broken ones of society, and even with you and me! He truly is the gentle Shepherd! —Jim Comte
Saviour like a shepherd lead us,
Much we need Thy tender care;
In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,
For our use, Thy fold prepare. —Dorothy A. Thrupp
