Description
These books remind us that God is always at work-even when His hand seems hidden. Ezra tells how God moved King Cyrus to release the Jews from captivity, fulfilling prophecy. Led by Jeshua and Zerubabel, a remnant returned. rebuilt the altar and temple, and, after opposition and discouragement, completed the temple in 516 BC. Later, Ezra taught God’s Word, bringing spiritual renewal. Nehemiah left the comfort of the Persian palace to rebuild Jerusalem’s ruined walls. Despite opposition, criticism, threats, and limited resources, the people completed the work in fifty-two days. Their enemies recognized, “this work was done by our God.” Esther shows God rescuing His people from annihilation through a Jewish queen married to a Gentile king. Though God’s name is never mentioned, His hand directs every circumstance. Together they challenge us to trust God, serve faithfully, and remember that He is always at work-even when we cannot see Him.
