Albania was once ruled by a notorious dictator. His name, Enver, was set in whitewashed letters, 100 meters high, into a mountainside near Albania’s oldest town. After his death, a disgruntled farmer, angered at a catalogue of broken promises, changed the first two letters around to change the word from “Enver” to “Never”—a message that bad times must never return.
