DAILY READINGS: Leviticus 26; Psalm 140-141; Mark 10:32-52

But we see Jesus, who was made a litt le lower than the angels for
the suff ering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by
the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 2:9

In this lovely text we see our Lord wreathed with the crown of victory,
His fi nished work establishing our salvation, justifi cation and
sanctifi cation. Calvary was a display of deity manifested in humanity
that humanity might share the glory of deity. —Duncan Maxwell

Crown Him the Lord of life: who triumphed o’er the grave,
Who rose victorious in the strife, for those He came to save;
His glories now we sing, who died and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring and lives that death may die.
—Matthew Bridges
