For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment. James 2:13, NKJV
Think of “mercy triumphs over judgment,” as an axiom for Christian living. Gracious mercy was undoubtedly witnessed by James (the Lord’s brother) in their Nazareth home. Later, the family could affirm that Jesus never discriminated against anyone in the miracles He performed and the forgiveness He granted. When others wanted Him to be harsh, He showed mercy (Luke 9:54). There’s a great difference between hard decisions and harsh decisions. Mercy always triumphs in the long run and ultimately will be vindicated at the Judgment Seat. —Peter Ramsay
