DAILY READINGS: Judges 3:5-31; Isaiah 24; 1 Corinthians 3
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die,
we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the
Lord’s. Romans 14:8
There is a very fi ne line between life and death—simply a breath.
Yet, there is a huge diff erence—they are extremes. Our verse today
reassures us that in the trials and joys of life, we belong to the Lord.
We are His. At the same time, even should we die, in death we are
still the Lord’s. The believer’s exclusive position of assurance and
comfort is that there is nothing that exists that can change that position.
You are the Lord’s own peculiar treasure and loved possession—
yesterday, today and forever. —Roy Hill
I am thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice, and it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith, and be closer drawn to Thee. —Crosby
