DAILY READINGS: 2 Chron. 6:12-42; Ezek. 30:20-31:18; John 11:28-54

As he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there
shined round about him a light from heaven. Acts 9:3

Each time Paul related his conversion, the experience of God’s salvation
became ever brighter and more precious to him. In Acts 22:6, he
refers to a “great light round about me.” In verse 11, he “could not
see for the glory of the light.” Later he says, “I saw in the way a light
from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about
me and them which journeyed with me.” Dear friend, do you still
rejoice in the day Christ saved you, or is this a distant, complacent
memory, oft en taken for granted? May the Holy Spirit give each of us
a fresh appreciation for our salvation today. —Michael Laurenson

The peace that Jesus gives to us anew is sweeter as the days go by;
The prospects opening to the Christian’s view are grander as the days go by.
