1 Samuel 9:15-10:27; Isaiah 50:1-51:8; 2 Corinthians 11:1-33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33 NKJV
Our Lord speaks here of what is of first importance in life. Notice what He doesn’t say. He doesn’t speak of good works or religious ceremonies. People today may feel these are important, but Jesus teaches about the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Many believe that they are righteous by what they are doing but our Lord says it comes through faith in His finished work on Calvary. Where is your righteousness resting? Are you trusting your works or the righteousness that comes by faith?—J. D. Fraser
Poor, feeble, wretched, as I am,
I now can glory in Thy name;
Now cleansed in Thy most precious blood,
And made the righteousness of God. —James G. Deck
