DAILY READINGS: Gen. 1:1 to 2:3; Job 1:1 to 2:10; Matt. 1

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His
compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy
faithfulness. The LORD is my portion saith my soul; therefore will
I hope in Him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for Him, to
the soul that seeketh for Him. Lamentations 3:22-25

On the edge of consuming fire, His mercies rescued us. Before the
first ray of sun leaps the horizon, His compassions are new. In life’s
bitterest moments, He never fails. Great is His faithfulness. He is our
soul’s portion—closer than a brother. We lift our eyes to the heavens
and smile. Our hope lies beyond the farthest star. Could He be any
better to us? Wait for Him. Seek for Him. And see. —S. McEachern

All my hope on God is founded; He doth still my trust renew,
Me through change and chance He guideth, only good and only true.—R.B.
