Description

J. M. Davies, a well known writer from a previous generation, traces Israel’s wilderness journeys and explores their significance and application in relation to divine prophecy.

J. M. Davies was born near Llandilo, South Wales, in 1895. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 15 years. He emigrated to the USA in 1914 and entered the Moody Bible Institute in 1915, from which he graduated in 1917. In 1920, together with his wife, Barbara, he left to serve the Lord in Kerala State, South India. For many years he preached the gospel and taught the scriptures extensively throughout the area, leaving India in 1962. He also ministered God’s word in the UK, the Middle East, USA and Canada. Many profited over the years from his wide-ranging written ministry, including his commentaries on Romans – The Christian’s Statue of Liberty; and Corinthians; as well as his expositions of the New Testament teaching about the church: The Lord and the Churches; and The Church – its Formation, Fellowship and Features. His wife died in 1968 and upon his remarriage, in his advanced years, he and his wife Sarah resided in Vancouver, BC, and were in fellowship in the local assembly until he was called home, November 22nd, 1990, aged 95 years.
