The Pioneer Series of books portray the lives and labours of past missionaries and evangelists who laboured for the Lord in various parts of the world.
To read of revivals amidst opposition and difficulties is not only of interest but is an inspiration and challenge, as we observe the Spirit of God at work in the conviction and conversion of many souls.
The series commenced in 1987 and it is proposed that several books will be added each year.
David Rea was born in Northern Ireland and saved from a life of sin at 24 years of age. Very soon thereafter he started gathering his companions into a school room on Sunday mornings where he read the Scriptures and prayed with them. First one was saved, this was very soon followed by others and the numbers continued to increase. He laboured in many parts of the U.K. preaching in tents, halls and open spaces. During his last twenty years he laboured mostly in large tents until at times he had up to 3,000 people. Thousands heard the Gospel message and hundreds were saved.
