Because for the work of Christ, [Epaphroditus] was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me. Philippians 2:30
A man known for “not regarding his life,” is a man who puts others first. Epaphroditus is the fourth of four individuals in this chapter that served others, lived for others, and in this case, almost died for others. “Comfort zone” was obviously not a phrase in his vocabulary. There is no biblical basis for careless, foolish living, but there is a real biblical mandate for living life to the full for others—especially for the work of Christ. —Craig Funston
