The Word was made fl esh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld
His glory, the glory as of the only begott en of the Father), full of
grace and truth. John 1:14
John had lived with Jesus for more than three years. Daily he beheld
the moral and spiritual glory of his Lord. His character was “full of
grace and truth”. His life was fi lled with beautiful grace and compassion.
He oft en said to sinners, “Your sins are forgiven you.” His
life was fi lled with truth. His teaching was always true. His conduct
was real, without hypocrisy. He was fearless in rebuking sin and
hypocrisy. Believers are to emulate His conduct. Do we long to be
fi lled with grace and truth? —Donald Norbie
