Bodily exercise profi teth litt le: but godliness is profi table unto all
things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is
to come. 1 Timothy 4:8
The profi t motive seems never to die in western civilization. But
man’s idea of profi t commonly misses God’s standard by a wide
margin. The Lord does not commend His people to profi t in stocks
and bonds or lands or popular acclaim; but rather advises that real
profi t lies in refl ecting God’s character in our own. How does your
personal balance sheet look? Does it show a “bott om line” of spiritual
gain? If it does not, you are missing the most important profit
opportunity. —Doug Kazen

From each idol that would keep us, saying, “Christian, love Me more.”—Anon.
