DAILY READINGS: 2 Chronicles 25; Ezekiel 42; John 18:28 to 19:16
Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness,
and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things.
Deut. 28:47
It is easy for us, as believers living in the West, to take our material
blessings for granted, and fail to give thanks to the Lord for His
abundance. Let us take our example from the suff ering and despised
saints in other parts of the world, who are not only more thankful
for the temporal blessings of life, but eminently more grateful for
the spiritual blessings, and thus experience more joy and gladness
in their hearts. —Brian Russell
For peaceful homes and healthy days,
For all the blessings earth displays,
Our God we owe Thee thanks and praise;
Who givest all. —C. Wordsworth
