Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is
called Christ? They all say unto him, Let Him be crucifi ed.
Matthew 27:22
The world said, “Let Him be crucifi ed.” But as convicted sinners
we say, “I will trust Him!” As priests we say, “I will present Him
to the Father in my worship.” As witnesses, we preach Him to the
ungodly. As redeemed souls in heaven, we shall fall at His feet, and
the Lover of our souls adore. Why do we respond thus? As our Redeemer,
He has saved us from hell. As our Shepherd, He will guide
us safely through life, and as our Bridegroom, He will come and
sweep us away to be forever with Himself. —Robert E. Surgenor
Lord Jesus Christ, the thought of Thee, with sweetness fi lls my breast;
But sweeter far Thy face to see, and in Thy presence rest.—Bernard of Clairvaux
