DAILY READINGS: Leviticus 12 to 13:23; Psalms 116-117; Mark 3:13-35
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew
unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he
sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John. Rev. 1:1
What a book this is! The last book of the “Oracles of God,” written
by the apostle John, a political prisoner on the Isle of Patmos. The
Greek name of the book is “apocalypse”—which simply means taking
off a covering or unveiling. In its first use in the New Testament
it is translated, “a light” to lighten the Gentiles (Luke 2:32). The Lord
Jesus is God’s “unveiling” to all the peoples and problems of a devil
usurped universe. Is the light of this Man still bright in me?

Give light, O Lord, that we may read, all signs that Thou art near,
And, while we live, in word and deed, Thy name revere. —L. Tuttiett
