DAILY READINGS: Numbers 15; Proverbs 12; 1 Peter 4

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:39

Engraved in the stonework of the main Post Office in downtown New York is this: “Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” Regardless of circumstances, the work must go on. Do we have the same attitude regarding the Lord’s work? His love for us continues unquenched. What a challenge for us! —Brian Powlesland

And the great globe itself, so the holy Scriptures tell,
With the rolling firmament where the starry armies dwell,
Shall melt with fervent heat – they all shall pass away,
Except the love of God which shall live and last for aye. —Anon.
