DAILY READINGS: 2 Sam. 19:9-43; Jeremiah 3:6 to 4:2; Gal. 4:21 to 5:9

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Titus 2:12

God’s grace does not condone sin. God’s grace introduces us to a life of discipleship and teaching at the feet of our Lord. Ungodliness, lusts, worldly desires, irreverence and disregard of God must be rejected. Grace encourages us to cultivate sensible, righteous, reverent lives. Let us not bring God’s grace into disrepute by godless living. The goal should be, “that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Mt. 5:16). —Donald L. Norbie

Give me, O Lord, a heart of grace, a voice of joy, a shining face,
That I may show, where’er I turn, Thy love within my soul doth burn.—Rosa Mulholland
