DAILY READINGS: 1 Kings 15:33-16:34; Jeremiah 27-28; Col. 4:2-18

Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose
branches run over the wall: Genesis 49:22

Jacob’s blessing to Joseph reflects what he was and what he was to
become—his early years and his later life, if you will. The years in his
father’s home, Potiphar’s house, the prison cell, and, finally,
Pharaoh’s palace, were all used to shape and mold him into one of
the Scripture’s greatest characters. Through them Joseph was growing
up, digging deep, and spreading out. May there be progression in
our lives too as we seek to be fruitful for the Lord.

You are my strength when I am weak,
You are the treasure that I seek;
You are my all in all. —Dennis Jernigan
