God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His
Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Corinthians 1:9
These words were addressed to the carnal church of Corinth in a
period of extreme crisis. In chapter after chapter the apostle Paul had
to deal with matters of faith and order that were seriously wrong
there. His theme is the Lordship of Christ. The Lord’s Supper
expresses it; the love of Christ exalts it; the power and wisdom of
God enshrines it and the resurrection establishes it. How beautiful is
