DAILY READINGS: 2 Kings 5; Jeremiah 38; Hebrews 9:15-28
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all
men liberally, and upbraideth not and it shall be given him. Jas. 1:5
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is
like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed…let not that
man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. James 1:6, 7
Did you ever read this first verse and then feel that the next verses
make it impossible? Did it make you say, “Then the promise is not
for me"? God knows that the waves cannot stop “wavering” when
the wind blows, and He has an answer! “What manner of man is this,
that even the wind and the sea obey him!” We can trust Him to deal
with our doubts as well as our lack of wisdom! —Harold Smith
