DAILY READINGS: 1 Chronicles 3 to 4:23; Ezekiel 5-6; John 1:1-18
The woman saith unto Him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with,
and the well is deep: from whence then hast Thou that living
water? John 4:11
She was right. The well was deep and He had nothing to draw
with. Nothing to draw water with, that is. But the Lord Jesus was
aiming for more than water. He was reaching to meet her deepest
need. For that He used something else to draw with. He used
Himself. When He had finished drawing at Jacob’s well He had
drawn this woman and many of the Samaritans. Today, the need is
deep as well, but the Lord Jesus is still drawing sinners to Himself.

Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord, to Thyself now glorified.—Anon.
