DAILY READINGS: Leviticus 4:27 to 5:13; Psalm 104; Acts 27:1-26

Ye have not passed this way heretofore. Joshua 3:4

The Christian life is progressive, because that is what God Himself is like. The Holy Spirit is always moving onward—His acts are ever new. To hold on to the past, wanting God to move as He did before, may move us out of His will. We must not interrupt divine progress. We too, like Abraham, must walk in faith, as “He went forth not knowing whither he went.” We can safely follow Him who “bearing His cross went forth unto a place called Golgotha.” In doing so, He proved He is worth believing and following. Press on in His strength. —P. A.

Rest comes at length: though life be long and dreary,
The day must dawn, and darksome night be past;
Faith’s journeys end in welcome to the weary,
And Heaven, the heart’s true home, will come at last. —F. W. Faber
