DAILY READINGS: Deut. 18:9 to 19:21; Joel 1; Luke 11:37-54

Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days? 2 Kings 20:19

Hezekiah had a very self-centred evaluation of what was “good”. Christendom is abounding with those who teach only to entertain and flatter. They draw great crowds, boast of great growth, and enjoy great popularity. Whose evaluation matters? Mine, or the Lord’s? Thankfully, He looks on the inside, and the one sinner that repents or the believer who sincerely yields is His true delight. Christ-centred worship and service is what really matters to Him, and so it should be with us too. —Rick Morse
