But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Luke 10:42
The Psalmist knew the one thing he needed, "That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple," (Psa. 27:4). Mary knew the one thing she needed and no one could take it from her—to sit at the Lord’s feet (Lk. 10:42). These days it is difficult for our minds to be fixed on one thing and to accomplish it. There are so many attractions and distractions to divert our thoughts and attention away. To get back to that one thing is a necessity for many of us.
