DAILY READINGS: 2 Chronicles 27-28; Ezekiel 44; John 20:1-18

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul. Hebrews 6:19

Life is often like a sea voyage. Storms may beat down upon one's ship, threatening to destroy. There are storms of illness, bereavement, financial adversity and loss of health. How can the Christian endure? The hope of heaven and God’s presence, based on His faithful promise, is like an anchor that steadies and keeps one from drifting. As you face whatever challenge God has called you to today; by faith cling to the anchor of God’s promise. —D. N.

We have an anchor that keeps the soul,
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll:
Fastened to the rock that cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s love. —P. Owens
