Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
Studying is hard work. Solomon observed that, “Much study is a weariness of the flesh” (Eccl. 12:12). Serious study calls for prayer and preparation of both heart and mind to receive God’s teaching and to make it an effectual part of our lives. A Chinese proverb expresses it well, “He who knows not and knows not that he knows not shun him. He who knows that he knows not, teach him.” May God help us to diligently learn His Word and then freely pass it on to others. —Robert Gentile
