DAILY?READINGS: Leviticus 21; Psalms 124-127; Mark 7:24 to 8:10

And God made two great lights: The greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. Genesis 1:16

The sun and moon were instituted to control, with great precision, the phenomenon of time which is unique to earth. God installed time as a feature of earth so He could present to man a marked and limited interlude during which God could make known in a unique way His power, love, grace, salvation, and judgement. I nothing lack if I am His, for He is mine forever. —John H. Gurney
