DAILY?READINGS: Deut. 25 to 26:15; Jonah 3-4; Luke 13:1-21

And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon. Exodus 40:35

And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear Him. Mark 9:7

God used a cloud to cover and prevent entrance to His presence in the Old Testament. But in the New Testament a cloud was used to reveal the glory of His Son and point people to Him. The difference is Calvary. As Christ gave Himself on the cross, the veil of the temple was torn from the top to the bottom, making a way for us to enter the holiest in heaven without a cloud between. —Tom Steere

Without a cloud between, to see Him face to face,
Not struck with dire amazement dumb, but triumphing in grace.—A. Midlane
