And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves. Mark 11:17
In the temple, the only place a Gentile could learn about God was in the courtyard of the Gentiles. Yet the greedy priests had turned it into a profiteering market place! What a hindrance to the “nations” wanting to get to know God! What about my life? Is it a hindrance to others? What do my neighbours see in me? A person with double standards? Do they see a person so busy with their career they’ve no time to share their life and the gospel with them, or do they see a beautiful temple filled with the Spirit of God? —David Croudace
