DAILY READINGS: Deut. 26:16-27:26; Amos 1:1-2:16; Luke 13:22-35

Thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth. Psalm 80:1

From that glorious dwelling above, He stooped by incarnation to dwell among men. He was made in the likeness of men. Still lower He bowed, reaching finally the hill Golgotha, the place of the skull, and death on a cross between two thieves. He who dwelt between the cherubims hung crucified between thieves, surrounded by mockers. There was no shining there, only darkness and sorrow. Wonder of wonders, He suffered it all for us! Now exalted to the Father’s right hand in glory, may He receive worship and thanksgiving today from each redeemed heart. —Carl Knott

Lest I forget Gethsemane; lest I forget Thine agony;
Lest I forget Thy love for me, lead me to Calvary. —Jennie Evelyn Hussey
