DAILY READINGS: 2 Kings 20:1-21:18; Lamentations 1:1-22; 1 Timothy 4:1-16

For me to live is Christ. Philippians 1:21

In the late 1800s Charles T. Studd (1862-1931) gave up a professional athletic career in cricket and became a missionary to China. At 25 he gave away a family fortune to support the work of D. L. Moody and George Müller. He wrote words that have impacted many to surrender their lives to Christ: “If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him.” What sacrifice have we made for Him? —W. Ross Rainey

All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live. —Judson W. Van de Venter
