Deuteronomy 13:1-14:21; Song of Solomon 3:6-5:1; Luke 10:1-24

Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah…And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne…stood a Lamb. Revelation 5:5-6

The amazing concept of the Lion and the Lamb being one entity, is more than our human minds can fathom. Yet, the majesty of the Lion and the meekness of the Lamb blend together in perfect harmony in the person of the Lord Jesus. Never was that meekness more perfectly displayed than when our Saviour in obedience to the Father’s will, humbled Himself to the death of the cross. But God has triumphantly raised Him in glorious victory, and given Him a name above every name (Phil. 2:9). May we worship His majesty today! —E. V.

Deuteronomy 12:1-32; Song of Solomon 2:8-3:5; Luke 9:37-62

The Lord…cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth. Psalm 96:13
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:21

There are many passages in the Old Testament telling us the Lord is coming to judge the earth and its people. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus of Nazareth said that in the day of judgment, He will be the one to decide who enters the kingdom of heaven. This claim is astonishing, even heretical, unless indeed He is the Lord. —P. W.

What will you do with Jesus?
Neutral you cannot be;
Someday your heart will be asking,
“What will He do with me?” —A. B. Simpson
